The New Moon is in Pisces and Neptune’s trident pierces our hearts. The Goddess is so close we can feel her breath on our cool cheek. She is whispering something; a secret we already know but have forgotten. Memories flood through us like waves along the waters edge. We sense the undines riding in the froth. Are they calling out to us? Walking in the warm sand, the tide draws close, beckoning us, daring us. We start to run, our vision clouded. The sun ascends behind our back. We feel it reach out toward us. Turning suddenly we remember our promise as we greet the dawn! Prayer for Eos the Goddess of the Dawn It is appropriate to pour a libation (of coffee!) for Eos. Close your eyes and visualize Her actions at Dawn. Then reach out your hand in salutation to the Dawn and say: " I greet Thee, Eos Goddess of the Dawn, Who brings forth the newborn day; the stars are gone, And fled before Thy face; both Sleep and Night Are routed by Thy torch, and put to flight. The flowers are awakened by Thy dew, And turn toward the light, for You renew Their life; so also may Thy dew revive My soul today with thanks to be alive. You care for all that’s fresh and young, So care for me, to whom Thy dew has clung. For You remind us that the darkest night Must yield to day and flee before the light. I pray Thee, shining Dawn, to bring to me Abundant wisdom, love and energy. I ask Thee, gracious Goddess, for a wealth Of hope, of time to do, of strength and health. Especially, this day I ask of Thee: (fill in request) So may it be! I give my thanks for all this day may bring, All things embraced by Dawn and Evening." ~ John Opsopaus Blow a kiss toward the Dawn. While we are basking in the light of the Dawn, how about a little lunar etheric charging? Since the moon is waxing and Pisces is all about developing your psychic powers, here’s a little evening ritual to perform each night as the moon waxes toward full. It will heighten your sensitivity and intuition. Before 10:00PM stand facing the waxing moon in the open air Close your eyes Raise your arms to your sides, palms forward Breathe slowly soaking in the moonlight Bend your arms at your elbows and turn your palms in facing your forehead Visualize light and heat from your palms flowing into your third eye Move your hands slowly downward toward your solar plexus Maintaining the flow of heat and light Separate your hands in a sweeping motion and bow Repeat seven times * * * * * * * The Gift of the Dawn Spread Shuffle your Tarot Cards Divide your deck 3 times Fan out your cards Pick 4 cards with your left hand Need an interpretation? About five years ago on my birthday, I was given a massage by a very gifted healer, Jodi York. She works intuitively and has developed a bodywork system that integrates all of her many skills. In the two hours that she worked on me, I experienced incredible visions. She took me into another space and time and was able to read my auric body. I could feel her pulling out negative energy and replacing it with healing light. It was a deeply powerful experience. While she worked on me I had a vision of a winged man/god and many, many white birds. To my amazement she had seen the same vision. In the middle of the night that night I awoke and started to write a poem. This is what I saw and I dedicate it to Jodi who is a true shaman! Jodi York can be reached @ 267-901-4600 For Intuitive Massage Restoring Apollo's Wings I see the battered bleeding knight His armor stained with war. His sight Is coming back to him as he Is wrapped in furs of wolves. Weary From loss, he dreams and still can hear The cries of battle and feel the fear And pain, his shoulders pierced and flayed He clung to life but still he stayed And fought until his royal blood Flowed with the rain into the mud So thick his horse’s black hooves slipped Faltering as his life’s blood dripped Down his back. He heard the angel’s distant call Who’d gathered there to brace his fall. He looked around. His army dwindled. Still in his heart a fury kindled. He dropped his heavy gilded sword. He raised his eyes up to his Lord And screamed. Defeat so distant now The poultice of herbs applied to his brow Brings him back. He is safe. He is home. He is healing. Recalling the scene, remembering the feeling. Drenched with sweat he tells of the fight Whispering, framed by the firelight. The vision that his fever brings Is that of white birds restoring things To what was once. What came before. He wears his circlet of gold. The door Is open, streaming rays of glory Victorious! He tells the story Of the golden gods who’ve fought Beside him when all that he sought Was threatened and taken Away, his pride, his honor shaken. But now he holds his right hand high. He clasps his sword and will not lie With death who knocks upon the door And laughs at him. Life’s waters pour Over his wounded body. He stirs Awakened now and feeling sure He can feel them, folded feathers, Huge along his back. Severed tethers Fall from his throat and he sings With the white birds. |

Tarot Tutorial Since we are greeting the dawn and perhaps lying in savasana (corpse pose) I thought it appropriate to take a look at a tarot card that for me exemplifies the energy of the New Moon in Pisces. The Ten of Swords RX Mary Greer has referred to the 10 of Swords as "corpse pose" and this is a comforting thought as it is often viewed as a card of RUIN! But if we look carefully at this card we can see the light of a new day! Here are my impressions: He hovers at the edge of darkness seeming to ascend skyward, uplifted by the very swords that pierce his earthly body. The black of night falls away and suffering is relieved as the heaviness of the blades pull out and down, falling into oblivion. The worst is over. His body upturned and receptive to the healing golden light. Out of nothingness something stirs. Consciousness regained, his perspective changes. Let the initiation begin. Reversed meaning The new cycle begins and the 10 swords fade Eyes gaze upward The Baptism of Fire is over; strength restored One’s being fills with the airy power of the Ace of Swords The horizon appears inviting There is a new understanding of the consequences of selfish action and the need to clarify intention According to Tarot Awareness By Stephen Walter Sterling |
