The Full Moon in Virgo/Pisces We carefully gather ourselves together, broken branches tied up in bundles, cleaning up the debris after things have come undone. The wind musses our hair as we walk with cautious steps along the shore watching for signs. Hermit crabs make soft holes in the sand. Seagulls spiral and scream. Twilight's mist clings to our faces, toes squishing in the wetness of lingering waves that call us by name. We abstain, the tide pulling us somewhere mysterious. But we know better. The Moon is full! This full moon in Virgo has two companions that have been rocking and rolling us backward and forward like a hula hoop contest. Saturn holds hands with the Moon reminding us to find our center of gravity. Uranus is in step with the Sun shocking us out of complacency, shattering what used to be. We are swimming so hard, caught in a rip tide! Steady your breath. Find your perfect stroke. Hold to your rhythm. |

The Full Moon in Virgo occurs on March 10th @ 10:38 PM EST at 21 degrees of Virgo/Pisces The Sabian Symbols for these degrees are: "A girl's basketball team" - 21 Virgo "A little white lamb, a child and a Chinese servant" - 21 Pisces What is a Sabian Symbol? The Sabian Symbols were channeled by a talented young sensitive named Elsie Wheeler almost 100 years ago. They were a visionary, experimental project of the astrologer Marc Edmond Jones. Utilizing Elsie's remarkable psychic abilities, he had her create word messages from her intuitive impressions for all 360 degrees of the zodiac. They are mystical metaphors for oracular use or personal wisdom. If you have a luminary (Sun or Moon) along this Full Moon axis then these symbols may have some personal significance for you in the coming month. |
Ostara Freestyle Quarters for Ostara Gather 4 friends to celebrate. Assign each participant a direction. Moving around in rapid succession.....like in a game of hot potato...... have each person call out a word or phrase that corresponds to their assigned direction and write it down on a piece of paper. Then, take five minutes and have everyone create a "call" using the words/phrases that they cried out in the round robin ritual. Here's a sample of what 4 of us created one year: East - Pam Golden Eagles soar high above white clouds on wings of thought Soft breath of springs breeze thru sparrows’ feathers Adria lady of the violet dawn rises with cool intellect Shining gates open and her sword of silver cuts thru the cobwebs of our minds South - Ted Salmon Egg. Garnet agate. Super nova. Flint spark. Glinting metal. Solar flares. Spilled orange paint. Punching a red pillow. Hot breath of satisfying anger. The fire we willingly leap into. West - Igraine Awake! Aware! Cool breath of water The river rushes The water falls I hold the silver chalice And share my love with you! Inspired by your blue eyes Wrapped in a dress of sea weed I am the nymph Swimming in sapphire pools Of emotion O water of spirit I call to you! For you nurture me With the milk of your breast Bathing me in lavender And aqua meditation I feel you In blues and greens Come to me! North - Rebecca Mother Earth, Her womb a cavernous planet in orbit Dunes of sand sitting in the palm of her hand Once covered by blanket Now fruit emerges from rolling rock Ancient Fathers gift us with your seed |

Igraine's Spell for this Full Moon Spell to Prevent Sickness The Festival of Hygieia was celebrated during this month of March in ancient Greece. In Greek mythology, Hygieia was the goddess of health, hygiene and later the moon. She is connected to the zodiacal sign of Virgo. Her father, Asclepius was considered the giver of health while she was more closely associated with the prevention of sickness. The caduceus, our symbol for medicine, resembles the rod of Asclepius entwined by the snake of his daughter Hygieia who was often depicted wrapped in a huge snake. Her cults flourished in the 7th century BC after the catastrophic plagues of Athens. In her temples, offerings were made by covering her statues with womens’ hair and clothing. To keep yourself well this spring, take a lock of your hair and wrap it in a silk cord of gold for vitality. Place it outside when the sun is at it’s highest. Offer your hair to Hygieia saying: “Goddess of health and well being, keep me as strong as the sun!” |
